Southlinks Country Club

SouthLinks Country Club in central Batam offers 18-holes of golf suitable for golfers of all abilities. The Batam golf resort sits on  213 hectares of elevated ground adjacent to the Sei Ladi reservoir. 

The original 1996 Japanese designed course was laid out on mostly flat land with the routing of holes out-and-back. Since then, additional water features, island greens, and doglegs improved the Southlinks golf challenge and variety. Reservoirs and natural streams flow across many of the holes into lakes and ponds adjacent to the fairways. Several of the improved holes include island green options for those who prefer long carries and risk-and-reward shots.

The front nine plays through more elevated land and some holes offer views of the Batam coastline Nagoya  City, and the Singapore skyline. The back nine is flatter, with the two best holes being number eight and nine. The former is a par-3 over water with landscaped rocks surrounding the green. The latter is a long par-4 bisected by a stream around 250 yards from the tee. A par or bogey on the last hole is a good score.

Facilities are one of the stronger points with an aging clubhouse in very good condition. Other amenities are three on-site restaurants, one of which exclusively serves Japanese food, Srizon branded pro shop, and two massage areas featuring a full range of services. Onsite accommodations are good, and two and three bedroom apartments make for convenient group lodging.
